Lim-Flex Pen-of-Three Female Show and Sale – National Western Stock Show
Females competing in the Lim-Flex® pen show must be registered Lim-Flex animals and have purple registration papers from NALF. Registered percentage-Limousin females (orange NALF registration papers) are not eligible for entry in the Lim-Flex female pen show.
To meet Lim-Flex registration criteria, animals must be 25 percent to 75 percent Limousin and 25 percent to 75 percent Angus or Red Angus, with a maximum allowance of another breed or unknown breed composition of 12.5 percent (1/8). The sires of registered Lim-Flex animals must be registered with NALF or the sires’ respective breed associations and have documented pedigree information for both parents. The dams of registered Lim-Flex animals must be documented as from registered sires included in either the NALF herdbook or that of another breed association and have actual percent-blood information documented. Complete registry requirements for Lim-Flex designation can be obtained by contacting the NALF office.
Animals shown in the Lim-Flex female pen show cannot show in the open Lim-Flex or Limousin show on the Hill. Alternates for the Lim-Flex female pen show must fit in the same class as the rest of the pen. Lim-Flex females must be from cows that are in the exhibitor’s membership or exhibitor’s family membership(s). Animals from leased cows are not permitted in the Lim-Flex female pen show. Classes will be determined at the discretion of NALF staff according to the oldest female in the pen of three and based on the ranges in birthdates that follow.
Females exhibited in the Bred Division will be pregnancy-tested at check-in and required to be at least 120 days pregnant as determined by rectal palpation. Bred females that do not meet the minimum requirement for days pregnant at check-in will be disqualified. Breeding-service information, including artificial insemination (AI) date(s) and natural-service beginning and ending exposure dates, and service-sire registration numbers are required at time of entry. Service sires must be registered Limousin, Lim-Flex, Angus or Red Angus. All animals entered in the pen-of-three Lim-Flex female show are required to be consigned to the Lim-Flex pen-of-three female sale.
