DENVER, Colo., (August 4, 2011) Caitlyn Ochsner of Kersey, Colo., won the participation sweepstakes at the National Junior Limousin Show and Congress in Amarillo, Texas, July 9-15. On her way to that victory, the 14-year-old won the Junior Division judging contest, sales-talk contest, placed second in the Junior Division magazine advertisement contest and fourth in the photo contest. She also exhibited four animals during the week and was in the top 10 for junior showmanship.

Rounding out this year's top 10 were Blair Davis, Brownwood, Texas, second; Grant Racca, Iowa, La., third; Blane Counsil, Madisonville, Texas, fourth; Rachel Booth, Miami, Okla., fifth; Cassidy Woodard, Calhan, Colo., sixth; Lauren Stowers, Bridgeport, Texas, seventh; Andrew Wright, Miami, Okla., eight; Mara Anderson, Garner, Iowa, ninth; Call Carmichael, Midland, Texas, tenth.

Texas won the team sweepstakes, followed by Oklahoma, then Colorado.

Individuals earned sweepstakes points by exhibiting animals; qualifying for the showmanship finals; and participating in the sales-talk, photography, magazine-advertising and judging contests. State teams gathered points from herdsmanship; a group class in the cattle show; the Limousin Beef Cook-Off; the quiz bowl; and the team-fitting, poster, sales-talk, judging and magazine-advertisement contests.
